Lewis brings F1 to Crawley!

Well not THE Lewis but little gorgeous bundle Lewis Alexander who was born yesterday the first child of very dear friends of mine.   I am just so excited, can't wait to see him but of course, family visits first.   Anyway, here is card:

I hope you like it x

A Heart for Helen

(Adopted) Daughter No.2's 21st Birthday - the heart idea is from Jane Gill.    The papers I've had for years, flower made from Woodware punches.   Sorry about the poor quality photo but it was taken on my mobile phone and I can't seem to edit it.

Just had to sneak a little of the Blues for my Bro x

Oh how I lurve this card - I wish I could take credit for the design but it's one of the very talented Jane Gill's http://janeelizabeth-flowergirl.blogspot.com/.   However, I did make it and I made the rose.   My little bit of 'prowess' was the match day programme in the pocket!    I remembered he was born on a Saturday and the Blues had a game, so I got a copy of it off 'tinternet and printed it off!

Woodware Challenge

I've never joined in a Challenge before, but as I'm home 'with me legs' (don't you just love phrases like that?) I thought I'd have a go.    This was a sketch challenge on the http://www.woodware.co.uk/blog blog.

The recipe is:
Base card - Bazzill JuneBerry
Magenta - Raspberry Odyssey Paper
Swiss dots embossing folder
Woodware Crafty Edger - Heart Scallop
Woodware/Jane Gill - Bubble Heart Stamp Set
Woodeware/Francoise Reed - FRCL029 Tiny Phrases
Embellishments - Nailheads, diamente and Rose Quartz stickles.

Skateboard Dude

I made this card for Fred, who will be 11 this week - he's really into boarding so this set from Woodware Boy Zone FRCL058 was perfick.  I used a 5.5" square card and cut out the zig-zag pattern and glittered the edges, backed it with the Doodlebug Stars & Stripes paper.   The dudes clothes were paper pieced.  Sic innit?

Crimson? Delights....

This is one of the latest flowers we made at Jane Gill's Floral Punch Craft classes at The Glitterpot www.theglitterpot.co.uk.    The flower is called Crimson Delight (we believe it maybe an Australian flower).    It's made from five different punches.    I can thoroughly recommend these classes, please don't think you couldn't possibly do it - we all started sometime and once you've got the bug for FPC there's no going back!

Oh!  and BTW - who said Crimson Delights HAVE to be crimson????   Poetic licence....

The secrets out!!

I was very flattered to be asked to make a set of Wedding Stationery for the Woodware Christmas Catalogue using Jane Gill's Wedding Set - scary or what?   I loved it, despite the sleepless nights and I actually found myself walking around with an "idea's pad"!    It was great.   Unfortunately I had to keep 'schtum' about it until the magazine was released, which was really hard when I so wanted to share it with my crafting friends, so I hope they forgive me.    Here's are two of the cards I made, the rest can be seen on http://www.woodware.co.uk/catalogues01.php

It's a beautiful set of stamps - I stamped the hearts on the top card onto shrink plastic - the heart on the second card is the actual size.   The heart set is

WOODWARE

BUBBLE HEARTS - CLEAR MAGIC SET
JGCL549

and the sentiments sets are:

WOODWARE
OUR SPECIAL DAY - CLEAR MAGIC SET
JGCL547

and

WOODWARE
ON YOUR WEDDING - CLEAR MAGIC SET
JGCL546

My friend Andrea's M&D are celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary this weekend and Andrea is "away to Scotland" this weekend to see her parents.  Congratulations Moira & Colin x

It is a book, the cream bit is concertinaed and I made a box for it to go in.

A little Sunday playing.....

I woke up this morning full of mojo, unfortunately I have to go out later so it was a Sunday morning play session (you should see the state of my desk!).    I saw the pom pom on http://stamping-fantasies.blogspot.com/ and the lovely Brenda emailed the instructions to me - which turned out to be a bigger version of a floral punch craft technique; the punches are Woodware.

The flower is a Jane Gill design http://www.woodware.co.uk/blog/ and I had a go in the lovely Papermania Glitter Embossed paper from http://www.theglitterpot.co.uk/scripts/prodList.asp.    It's beautiful but it needs to be on a card....

The gift tag is a new venture for me, not made one before, but I was really pleased with this.   The paper is Papermania double-sided and it's purple so it MUST be gorgeous!

Right, now I REALLY must go and get ready to go out.   HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!

Can't say 'Thank You' enough.....

I was asked to make a selection of Thank You cards - Such Fun!   It was really lovely having such a challenge and being able to use sooo many stamps and colours and bits and Roberts.

The stamps I've used are:
Hobby Art Floral Display (purple card)
Hero Arts Full Bloom Rose (green card)
Hero Arts Stitched Rose (pink card)
Hero Arts Dandelion (pale blue card)
Penny Black Love Blush (blue bow card)
I also used an assortment of embossing folders (Cuttlebug)
Sentiments from peel-offs, SU, Woodware

Divided loyalties?

Now Ryan can't quite make up his mind who he supports (personally I think they're both rubbish) is it Arsenal or Liverpool....    His card had to have both - I was quite pleased with this challenge.   The football is Quickutz and I used a football stamp to stamp in the aperture.

I'm just lovin these wildflowers...

I'm just loving these Hero Arts Wildflower Garden stamps.    Unfortunately, the photos don't show all the glitter glue I used nor does it show the design of the card as well as it could.   The front cover of the card is cut to half the size of the rear, then I stamped the whole image on the back.  When this is dry I covered the image with a piece of acetate so I could see through, then stamped the image again on the front sheet, making sure it's all in line.

Stamp is Hero Arts Wildflower Garden from www.theglitterpot.co.uk .
Tag stamp is Woodware Tiny Greetings & Tags

Mmm something missing....

I spent two days with this one, moving bits around, trying this, trying that and then run out of time as I had to get it in the post!    I'm still not entirely happy with it, there's definitely something missing...

Saturday 13 August 2011

Del...icious

Ha ha he'd laugh himself silly at that title....

Sorry the photo isn't too good, it's quite difficult with mirri card.    I used my Quickutz dies for this - was great to give them an airing again!    The starry velum was from a Papermania pack that I bought at The Glitterpot and I used card candy from Craftwork Cards.

And the Bride Wore Pink....

I was asked to make this card for my friend whose niece is getting married today - slightly out of my comfort zone as I don't tend to do pink for weddings - sorry the quality isn't much good, it's off my mobile.

I used Stampin Up Heat & Stick + Glitter on the image, which gave a lovely sparkly effect - I've had it about 2 years but never got round to using it, now I love it!

Do you know sometimes in your life there's just......

What a wonderful weekend I've had - two big events, both involving meeting up with people I've not seen in a long while.   I know this is a crafting blog but this was so good I just want to share it with you.   My auntie (not a real one, but as close as) celebrated her 80th birthday this weekend.   Her husband, Don and my Dad were in the Army together, my Dad was their best man and the families all became very good friends and my brother and I often talk of all the marvellous times we had at their house with their six children.   My brother and I have not seen any of the children for more than 25 years and on Saturday we all got together again and they were as excited to see us as we were to see them.   What a lovely feeling it's left me with.  So here we are - and here's the card I gave to Auntie Muriel.

Silver Wedding - The Blessing

Paula & Ian had their 25 happy years blessed - I was asked to produce a keepsake of the words of the Blessing.   I made a box for it too.

Sunday 5 June 2011

Silver? We had a Golden time....

As per my previous blog I've just got sooo many Silver WA's going on this year.   My bestest and longest friend (47 years) celebrated her Silver Wedding Anniversary yesterday.    We had a wonderful chinese lunch and then back to the family home for cake, champagne, live music and a Blessing of their Marriage.  Here is the exploding box I made them.

The paper I used to make the roses was from Craftwork Cards Paper Blox http://www.craftworkcards.co.uk/ - the rest you probably know, but if you don't leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

What was it about 1986?

I've had a number of anniversary cards to make this year for people celebrating their Silver Weddings - here's another one and next week I can show you some more.

Thursday 28 April 2011

At last!

I can now show you one set of my "moments" cards.    These are for two good friends SarahK and SarahT.    It's Lady June again - can't help it, I love her!

Monday 25 April 2011

So frustrating......

I've been in a very creative mood over the past few days but what is so frustrating is that the results of my mood cannot be blogged yet (the recipients are all avid-blog readers).   I promise normal service will be resumed very soon.   However, rather than leave this blog entry a little bland I'd like to show you some pictures I took at Sheffield Park today.   I can't believe I've lived here all these years and never been to such a beautiful place.

Anything but crafting

I don't usually upload photos that aren't craft related, but I loved this picture so much I wanted to share it with you.  I took it today at Tilgate Park in Crawley.

Tuesday 12 April 2011

Happy Birthday Robbie

My boy was 16 last week here is the first of the cards I made for him - this one from his sister.    We made this shape card at a class the other week and I made it a little more man (ish).

Sunday 3 April 2011

Lady June makes her debut on Mother's Day

I've been holding onto these as I didn't want my Mum to see her card before today.   The pinky one was made in a Jane Gill class at The Glitter Pot.    It's a shame that you can't see the bling on her hat.   Goregus ain't she?

20/25 More Invites - Silver Wedding

My bestest friend Paula 'Lurve' and her poor long-suffering husband Ian are celebrating 25 years of wedded madness this June.    Now my mate, Paula 'Lurve' and I first met when we were 7 years-old,  she made me laugh hysterically then, and here we are 47 years later speaking on the phone 2-3 times a week spending at least half of our hour long conversations in hysterics!!!!    We have so much history - some good, but a lot of BAD - OMG the stories.....    Anyway, she asked me to design and make her 25th Anniversary invites - I was soooo excited about my '25' heart buttons, I just had to phone her, bless she doesn't really understand why I get so excited but like a true friend she was there to listen!

The buttons were made with shrink plastic and stamped with the Paula Pascual Christmas set (thanks SarahK for lending it to me) before shrinking.

Wednesday 16 March 2011

Well Hellloooo Kitty..........

Ella-Bella is going to be six and her Mum asked me to make these invites for her birthday party.  The instructions were Hello Kitty, Feathers, Butterflies and loads of Bling!!!!!!!   I got the Hello Kitty's from elsonbabe on ebay, the ribbon was from www.craftyribbons.com, card stock, bling etc. www.theglitterpot.co.uk.   A big thank you to my mate Mrs. Wonka www.mrswonkas.blogspot.com for the shape of the card.   I hope she likes them.

Just how hard is Valentines?

.... for men that is!

I really struggled to come up with an idea for this card - I very rarely do "cute" and I would feel really odd sending one to my man - he's an engineer and likes lots of shape.   I found this shape on a fab website www.denasstampingcorner.blogspot.com and then completely changed all the design.

The paper was one I bought from QVC years ago.   The heart was cut using a Quickutz die.   The little "Made with Love" charm I bought at Craftsulove and I made the button with shrink plastic (my new favourite friend).

Love is in the air everywhere I look around...........

Sunday 23 January 2011

Happy Birthday Oliver

It's my nephew Oliver's first birthday this week.   Due to circumstances beyond my control I've never met him but I  have received lots of photos and he is an absolute sweetheart.   Anyway, I won't let him forget his Auntie June!

The paper is Little Boy by Echo Park Paper Company which I bought at The Glitter Pot and the stamps are Penny Black Zoophabet.   I will put some googly eyes on the lion, but I've run out so will have to get some tomorrow before posting.

Thank you for following my blog, it's so lovely reading your comments.    June x

Purrfect Ribbon Stash

I really needed somewhere to store my ribbons so I could see what I had and what I needed (I ALWAYS need ribbons....).    I found these boxes in Staples, cut out some thick card as separators and the winding began.    Now I can see exactly what I have and don't have!    As you can see Rosie and Bella just HAD to get in on the act!
